Barry Moser is a native Tennessean who makes his home in Massachusetts. He was educated at Auburn University, the University of Chattanooga, and the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. His work is featured in numerous collections and libraries around the world, including The National Gallery of Art, The Metropolitan Museum, The British Museum, The Library of Congress, The New York Public Library, The National Library of Australia, the Vatican Library, The Victoria and Albert Museum, and the Israel Museum.

As an illustrator, author, and designer, Moser has worked on more than 250 titles, including Moby Dick (Arion Press) and The Divine Comedy of Dante (University of California Press, translated by Alan Mandelbaum). Moser’s edition of Lewis Carroll’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland won The American Book Award for design and illumination in 1983. His 1999 edition of the King James Bible has received international acclaim and was the subject of an award-winning documentary film called “A Thief Among the Angels.”
